Valuing Business Entitlements and Land in Property Settlement

Acting for the wife, Alison McGeorge, spent almost 18 months working on the couple’s property settlement, which was very complex. During this time, Alison worked with specialists such as accountants and remuneration consultants to value the husband’s large and very successful business and the husband’s pay. To further complicate matters, the couple’s house had been built on land owned by the husband’s family. In the end, the wife (who had quite a few children) was paid for her share of the asset pool in a cash settlement.
