About

Elena Delaveris is a family lawyer based in our Wollongong office. Elena has spent most of her life in the northern coastal suburbs of Wollongong, giving her a strong and genuine connection to the Illawarra community.

Known for being driven, articulate and compassionate, Elena approaches her work with both professionalism and empathy. She is dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for her clients while ensuring they feel supported, informed and confident throughout the legal process.

What she does

I have practised exclusively in family law since my admission as a solicitor. Prior to my admission, I gained extensive experience working in family law at local firms in Wollongong from the commencement of my university studies, providing me with a strong foundation in this area.

I advise clients across a broad range of family law matters, including parenting disputes, property settlements, divorce, spousal maintenance, child support, financial agreements and adoption. I act for both married and de facto clients, across matters ranging from straightforward disputes to complex and highly sensitive cases. I have a particular interest in complex parenting matters.

My approach is centred on delivering clear, practical and solutions-focused advice, while supporting clients through what is often a deeply challenging and emotional time. I place a strong emphasis on resolving matters constructively and efficiently, and I actively encourage negotiated outcomes wherever appropriate to minimise conflict, delay and cost.

Where litigation is necessary, I appear confidently in Court and advocate strongly on behalf of my clients. I have experience across a range of specialised court lists, which has enabled me to develop a comprehensive understanding of complex legal issues and procedures.

I have developed a strong reputation in the field and am known for my pragmatic, thoughtful and client-focused approach.

Qualifications

Elena holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma of Practical Legal Training from the College of Law. She was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 2024.

Life Outside Kells

Elena enjoys staying active, spending time at the beach, exploring new restaurants, and catching up with family and friends. She also appreciates the opportunity to unwind with a good coffee and values making the most of the Illawarra’s coastal lifestyle.
