NSW District Court awards more than $1 million in workplace injury compensation claim

A recent compensation case successfully conducted by Kells personal injury lawyer, Remy Rovere, has resulted in a significant NSW District Court judgment, with our client being awarded compensation in excess of $1 million.

The claim arose from a serious workplace incident in which our client was assaulted by a customer while working in a retail telecommunications store. Fortunately, although physical injuries were sustained they resolved in time, however, the traumatic nature of the incident resulted in severe and protracted psychological injuries, including chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which ultimately prevented our client from returning to work.

This outcome represents a substantial victory for our client, who pursued his claim through a complex and hard-fought legal process. The judgment reinforces the importance of employers taking reasonable steps to protect their workers from foreseeable risks of both physical and psychological harm in the workplace.
